This week Twitter has released news of the updates they'll be rolling out in the next few months and you can read about them all here. Basically everyone asked for more characters and they answered At a glance, key changes are:
Replying to tweets When having a conversation, the @name Twitter handle will no longer count towards the word count, so you have a full 140 characters to play with. Media attachments When you attach images, gifs, videos, polls or Quote Tweets, this will no longer count towards the work count, so again you have a full 140 characters to play with. Retweet/Quote Tweet You will be able to Retweet and Quote Tweet your own past tweets - let's make sure we don't abuse this yeh?! .@name no more Not sure that everyone knew this originally, but when you started a tweet with @name only the people who followed you both could see the tweet. So if you wanted something to be completely public, you could add a full stop at the start of the tweet. You don't need to do this any more/no change for you if you weren't using this in the first place! Now if you start a tweet with @name all of your followers can see the tweet. Not entirely sure when it will all kick in so keep up the current practices until we know it's happened!
